Step into the Seasons of Japan

Installation view of Step into the Seasons of Japan in the Damon C. and Kay D. Davis Lab,, February 22—December 8, 2019. Courtesy of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields.

An immersive, interactive experience that invited guests to explore the changing seasons of the Japanese landscape through art, sound, animation, and touch. Created as the kickoff to Newfields’ year-long Seasons of Japan initiative, the experience transformed a work from the museum’s Japanese collection into a playful, interactive, digital landscape while introducing visitors to the broader exhibitions and experiences unfolding across the campus.

My Role
I led the multidisciplinary team from concept through execution, shaping the creative direction, educational goals, and guiding the development of the interactive experience. I brought together curatorial, design, technology, and horticultural expertise while exploring what we could create with our in-house resources.
